Delicious Appam prepared without yeast


Appam  prepared without yeast





Appam is a very popular in kerala and also in south india. it is prepared in raw rice. it is a very soft dish , very easy to prepare which tastes extremely good.

Ingredients
Raw Rice: 2 cups
Fenugreek seeds: 1 tsp
Urad dal   :  1/4 cup
Coconut milk:½  cup
Cooked Rice:½ cup
Salt: as required

Method 
Soak raw rice,Urad dal and feenu greek in a bowl for3-4 hrs
Grind the soaked and washed rice and the cooked rice in a mixer as a smooth paste.Pour the coconut milk, mix it well with hand Keep aside to about 6-8hrs for fermentation.Heat an  appam kadai, pour a ladle full of batter and rotate the kadai and close it with a lid for 2-3 minutes in low flame.
Tasty appam is ready for serving.

Side dish

Side dish for appam can be Ishtu prepared with potato and onion in kerala style and Vegetable kuruma in Chettinad style.
It will be a great combination with Channa curry also.

Note: Cook the appam only in low flame.
